My username and password aren't working. What should I do?

Answer

Are you including @pfw.edu in your username? Your username is what comes before @pfw.edu in your Purdue University Fort Wayne email address. For example, if your Purdue Fort Wayne email address is studim04@pfw.edu, your username is studim04.

If that isn’t the problem, your password might be expired. Some university sites, like goPFW give you grace logins. The library resources do not do this. This means you may be able to log in to goPFW even if your password is expired. To find out if your password has expired:

Go to https://go.pfw.edu and log in.

On the home page scroll down until you find Purdue Fort Wayne Personal Information. It’s on the left side of the page beneath Email & My Files. The password expiration date is the second item in that list.

If your password has expired go back to the login page: https://go.pfw.edu.

Click on the Change Password link on the right side of the page under Resources and follow the instructions given there. If you are unable to login to goPFW, you have probably used all your grace logins. Try changing your password.

If you still can’t login, go to the Trouble signing in? link on the right side of the login page: https://go.pfw.edu.  That will give you contact information for the IT Services Help Desk who will help solve your problem.
