How do I add a streaming video from a library database to Brightspace with an embed code or video link?

Answer

Here’s one way instructors can add streaming videos from the Library’s collection (e.g. Academic Video Online) to Brightspace. If these instructions don’t work for your particular video, contact us at Ask a Librarian!

Step 1: Find and copy the embed code (or, if not available, permalink) for the video. For example:

Step 2: In Brightspace, go to the Module/Week where you want to add the video

Step 3: Click on Add a description

Step 4: Click the small box with the arrow for “Insert Stuff”

Step 5.  Choose Enter Embed Code (or, if you prefer, Insert Link)

Step 6.  Then Paste in Embed Code or Link, choose Next, Then Insert, then Update

Note:  If you are asked, “We blocked this for you https://ezproxy.library.pfw.edu/login This media is from another website. Do you want to allow it?” choose: Allow with the check mark next to “Always trust this URL”
