Q. I need articles on my culture for Transcultural Healthcare. Where can I find them?

There is a course guide for this class that can help:  https://library.pfw.edu/NURSB290

Some general advice:

  1. Start by getting background on the culture from the resources listed at the top of the guide. They do not count as "research articles," but you can cite them safely, and they will give you lots of valuable information.
  2. Decide which of the Domains you want to talk about in your paper, and then review what you have from the background resources on the guide. Decide where there are gaps.
  3. Once you know what is missing from your paper, then it is time to go into one of the scholarly article databases listed on the guide and search for the additional information you need.
  4. For example, if you want information on Germany and childbirth, try putting in the following (German or Germany) AND (childbirth or pregnancy).  You will want to put the culture in the top box, using "or" for any synonyms and alternative names, and then the Domain you want in the second box down, again using "or" for any synonyms there as well.  Search for ( German or Germany ) AND ( Childbirth or Pregnancy )
